1st Year Electrical & Instrumentation Apprentice

Kickstart your career with 91¹ÙÍøand Honeywell an exciting opportunity to become a Dual Trade Apprentice in Electrical and Instrumentation located in Derwent Park! We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for hands-on work and problem-solving to join our dynamic team. This apprenticeship will equip you with comprehensive skills in both electrical and instrumentation trades, offering a unique pathway to a versatile and rewarding career.


As a 1st year apprentice, under the supervision of qualified and experienced Honeywell technicians, your key areas of responsibilities & duties will include:

  • Commission, service, and maintain Honeywell and third-party equipment.
  • Install, commission, service, and repair equipment, including diagnosing faults.
  • Adhere to high health & safety standards required by Honeywell and customers.
  • Demonstrate a proactive learning attitude and confidence in new challenges.
  • Attend TAFE and complete required tertiary training.
  • Develop strong planning and prioritization skills for handling multiple tasks, including installation and commissioning.

This opportunity is a dual trade & you will receive a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician & Instrumentation and Control.

Essential Criteria

  • Completed a Pre-App in Electrotechnology (preferred but not essential)
  • Be willing to commit to the completion of a four-year apprenticeship
  • Completion of year 12 or similar previous work experience
  • White Card
  • Drivers Licence
  • Willing and able to travel to sites

The successful candidate must successfully pass the following pre-employment checks prior to their formal offer - Police check, full medical check including drug & alcohol screening, hearing test and a colour confusion test. For some locations an NVI Security clearance will be required.
