Position: Apprentice Greenkeeper
Sun City Country Club is located 45 minutes north of Perth and 25 minutes from Joondalup. Nestled between the Yanchep National Park and Lagoon,ÌýSun City Country Club offers a remarkable natural setting and an excellent golfing experience.
We are looking to bring on a 1st year Apprentice Greenkeeper to join the team. As an Apprentice Greenkeeper, you will assist with grounds maintenance and greenkeeping duties, including, but not restricted to:
- preparing seedbeds for new turf
- establishing and maintaining turf by watering, over sowing or over seeding, and repairing green damage
- mowing, rolling and levelling turf
- pegging and marking out lines and logos, installing nets, posts and stumps, and placing other sports equipment on playing areas
- operating and maintaining hand and power driven equipment such as mowers, aerators, cultivators, corers and line marking equipment
- replanting, repairing, aerating, fertilising and top dressing lawns
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a desire to build a career in Greenskeeping.
- Can work well within a team or individually.
- Is willing to start early in the morning and work flexible hours, including some weekend work
- Is committed to attending TAFE one day per week to ensure successful completion of their qualifications.
Applicants must have:
- Completed Year 10 or the equivalent
- Be capable of physical work
- An understanding of golf is desired but not essential.
The successful applicant will be expected to complete their Cert. III in Sports Turf Management as part of their apprenticeship, and will be provided with on the job training in all aspects of turf management.
