East Bentleigh Animal Care Veterinary Clinic is looking for an trainee vet nurse to join our team. We are a small animal clinic that provides top quality animal care in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Working with our vet nurses and a qualified veterinarian, you will have great presentation and communication skills to help our team succeed. Juniors are welcome to apply, those that might be considering their first qualification in animal studies.Ìý
The Job (After Appropriate Training):
- Assisting veterinarians during consultations, examinations & treatments, while using appropriate restraint techniques
- Phone and front desk duties as required
- Preparing and administering medications, vaccines & treatments under the supervision of our veterinarian
- General cleaning duties
- Providing clients information on nutrition, parasite control and animal behaviourÌý
- Feeding animals
- Pursuit of either Animal Studies orÌýVeterinary Nursing qualifications
Who are you?
- You wish to pursue a career in veterinary nursing
- An individual with energy to burn and an excellent attitude
- You are studying or want to study inÌýAnimal Sciences or Veterinary Nursing at the certificate level
- You have your P plate driver's licence or higher or easy access to the clinic by other transport
- You are committed and dedicated to animal care and customer service
- You are well presented and articulate, respectful and willing to learn
To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
